Presentation Requirements

Presentation Guidelines

Technical Specifications

  • Presentations must be prepared using Microsoft Office PowerPoint compatible with the Windows Operating System.
  • Please bring your presentation with you on the day. We recommend you have a backup copy in case there is an issue with the first copy.
  • Familiarise yourself with the room set-up and audio-visual equipment in the speaker preparation area. This will allow you adequate time to work with the technicians to set up your requirements.
  • Lectern and microphone will be available for individual speakers.
  • Handheld mics will be provided for each panellist during the panel discussions.
  • All presentations should be created and designed in 16:9 screen aspect ratio (wider image display). This will ensure your presentation uses the whole screen.
  • Off-line rather than on-line techniques should be used to present websites.
  • Speakers will not have to turn the microphone on or off, the Audio Technician assigned to the room will control volumes from the control panel.
  • The in-house audio-visual equipment must be used.
  • Please contact AusBiotech if you are preparing your presentation from a Mac or if you want to use a different solution than PowerPoint as we would have to check compatibility with our AV provider.
  • All videos must be embedded directly into your PowerPoint presentation. Please ensure your file is saved in PPT format only (no downloads or PDFs).

Presentation Release Authorisation

With your permission, AusBiotech may distribute your presentation PDFs to attendees after the conference. Please contact us immediately should you not wish AusBiotech to distribute your presentation materials – invest@ausbiotech.org

Your Session

Your Session Chair

Timekeeping

Room Setup

Your session chair will be responsible for managing the session and is under instructions to keep their respective session on time. They will notify you should you be running over time and will also manage all speakers for their session returning to the stage for Q&A.

Please direct all questions regarding your presentation’s length and content to the AusBiotech Invest team – invest@ausbiotech.org

The flow of the event is contingent on keeping to allocated times. If an oral presentation exceeds its allotted time, the chair will exercise his or her authority to invite the speaker to bring their presentation quickly to an end.

All speakers will have an eight minute time limit for their presentation and you will be notified when you have one minute left by the ringing of a bell.

The session room will be arranged with comfortable tub chairs positioned at the front of the room. For your comfort during the Q&A section, we recommend speakers opt for trousers or long skirts for ease of seating. Each speaker will have an individual microphone to ensure clear audio, and water will be available for all speakers.

An AV technician will be on hand to provide support with microphones and other requirements throughout the session.
